The importance of body exfoliation

Let’s talk about your body exfoliation! We all take such great care of the skin on our face but let’s talk about the rest of the body.

 

Dead skin builds up everywhere on our body and we want to make sure we don’t forget to exfoliate everywhere. The areas that tend to have more dry skin are elbows, knees, thighs, feet and bums.  You will want to focus more on those areas with your exfoliant. Personally, I love using an exfoliating mitt with body wash but you can use a loofah, or body exfoliant etc.  Do this in the shower 1-2x a week. This keeps your skin glowy and helps soften the skin allowing moisturizers to penetrate deeper.

 

Just make sure you don’t over exfoliate your skin. Over exfoliating will cause irritation, peeling and you will feel uncomfortable and tight. If that happens take a break until your skin calms down and moisturize everyday. Unscented moisturizers are the best for sensitive skin as fragrances can cause issues.
