Do we really need a moisturizer and a serum?
Most definitely!!!
I always get asked, do I really need to use both? Cant I just use a moisturizer?
You really need both and here is why...
Moisturizers- are made up of a combination of water, oil, emollients and nutrients. They contain emulsifiers or wax that help bind it together. They are made up of larger molecules which are designed to penetrate the upper layers of your skin, locking in moisture and nutrients. Moisturizers work in two ways. They trap moisture in your skin, creating a temporary seal and they restore moisture in the outer layer of your skin providing a barrier and protecting your skin. Moisturizers help prevent dryness, makes your skin look more youthful by improving texture and promoting a healthy glow. Using a moisturizer on top of a serum will help lock in the serums active ingredients.
Serums- By far my favorite and I own lots!! I absolutely love the way a good serum makes your face feel. Can you say heavenly!! Serums are designed to address and treat many different concerns, from aging to pigmentation to acne. They are considered the work horse in skin care. Serums are made up of small molecules so they can penetrate to the deeper layers of the skin where they are needed. Most serums are water based and contain a combination of antioxidants, vitamins, peptides and other specialized ingredients for targeting numerous skin concerns. Serums are made of highly active concentrated ingredients which make them extremely effective.
Take your best face into fall by treating your skin the way it deserves.
