Botox Hyperhidrosis
-
The underarms, palms, soles, scalp and forehead and groin are all treatable areas; in fact, pretty much any area with excessive sweating will respond to treatment.
-
The affected areas are administered with tiny Botox injections. This usually takes between 10 and 20 minutes.
-
Typically, patients describe the discomfort at about a 1-3 out of 10 for underarms. If needed, an anaesthetic cream can be applied to numb the skin before the procedure. It can also help to take acetaminophen 1 hour prior to your procedure to help alleviate some discomfort.
-
You should notice a reduction in your sweating within the first few days, but it may take 7-14 to reach the full effectiveness.
-
Sweating is usually controlled for about 6-12 months. Repeat treatments can be administered as the effects begin to wear off.
-
Mild discomfort at the time of Botox treatment, occasional bruising, and occasional but temporary muscle weakness if the hands are treated. Skintology Health and Wellness Centre is staffed by well-respected and experienced practitioners to ensure optimal safety.
